Project 1

 Project 1 is to collaborate with a game or movie to create a painting. For this purpose, I chose the concept of valorant, an FPS game that I play often. valorant has several maps, one of which is based on Japan. However, from my perspective as a Japanese person, that map seemed to have completely lost its Japaneseness, so I decided to paint a picture of it in the form of a renewal. Specifically, I used the Japanese cityscape as a base and incorporated images of damaged and broken buildings.

Before painting the picture, I used Pinterest to find images of various buildings in order to get an idea of the architecture and colors. However, this was a very difficult task for me, as it was the first time for me to paint a picture from scratch. During class, I watched Mr. Kannan teach me how to paint, and in just one hour I had completed the exterior of the building. It looked easy, but when I actually tried it myself, I found it difficult to draw my own original building. However, through trial and error, I was eventually able to create and draw my own original castle, based on Japanese castles but inspired by Western castles.
